We had the SAARC Badminton Tournament today. I enjoyed the enthusiasm of badminton players who joined today. I am happy that Vignesh Asokan and I became runners up in the A bracket. Thanks Vignesh for putting your trust in me and pulling us to the Finals. We fought really well but the team that made less unforced errors won the tournament. Congratulations Adarsh Kodandapani and Reenu Thirumal for putting on a good show in the final and being Champions. Your temperament and precision paid off. Great job! Congratulations to all other champions and runner ups in respective brackets.
Thanks to the organizers, Wasim Akram and Oz Khan for organizing this awesome tournament for SAARC countries. Thanks to volunteers, Sarah Khan, Salma Yeasmin, Mehnaz Shama and team. Thanks to Nusrat Sharmin for well crafted jerseys. Thanks to Steven Trinh and Tou Vang for helping with stringing. Special thanks to my unofficial coaches Daven Gobalan, Sathees, and Ned Reaz.
With that my badminton season for 2024 ended. I also won two Men’s Single championships (Minnesota Open and Iowa Open 2024) in the D bracket. Alhamdulillah for winning three trophies in 3 tournaments. Eagerly looking forward to what 2025 can bring.
